Well I know that there are a lot of people who are complaining about the quality of the Sony Omnidirectional Microphone, but I mean, come on, for 10$ what did they expect? I think that they shouldn’t be so hard on this microphone. I think there are a variety of uses for it. I mean, if you ever need to use a microphone in unfavorable weather conditions, and you don’t want to risk using your expensive microphone out in the open, then this would probably be a great choice. Also, I’ve been to events (like parties) where kids are running around, and they have to handle the mic to participate. You can expect that the microphone will be dropped or stepped on at least once. Again, the Sony Omnidirectional Microphone is here to save the day, and to save your dollars. Treat it more like a disposable piece of equipment than anything that you would ever put inside your music studio.
Finally, if you’re on the go, and you need a mic to accompany your laptop or digital camcorder or whatever else, like when travelling, etc, then you could also consider the Sony Omnidirectional Microphone. No loss and no regrets if you ever lose it. The same can’t be said for studio quality mics. Of course you can probably encounter some factory defects, but again, just remember, here’s a cheap, functional, and disposable microphone, made by a trustworthy brand, Sony. Just be creative with the possibilities.
